Gianfranco Ferré was an Italian designer who trained as an architect, and he became known as "the architect of fashion" for his structured, sculptural approach. He launched his label in Milan in 1978 and was artistic director of Christian Dior from 1989 to 1996. GF Ferré was his younger diffusion line.
